OK, so maybe it was just one rat. Or, maybe not.

It would seem that a rat had dared to intrude upon my beloved mother's solitude - invading her home, and assailing her senses and overwhelming her emotions.

This was no mere mouse. It was a rat, a dire scourge if ever there had been one. He was up to no good - or was it a she?? Necessity did not allow the luxury of a close inspection. GrimFinger was summoned from afar.

Like the Spectre, GrimFinger descends upon the humble abode. Humongous and devious traps were laid, and Time played its role, as well.

On more than one occasion, this foul fiend had dared to dine on some peanut butter a la poison, but it had somehow managed to acquire some degree of invulnerability. But, then it dared to tread through a minefield of gluetraps, and Fortune smiled not upon the rat in that hour.

Then, as if to mock my beloved mother, this scoundrel became ensnared, but its head and its front paws remained free - free to wreak havoc and to bite the living shit out of some poor, unsuspecting jailer.

GrimFinger discovered the monstrous beast in its new Lair of Everlasting Stickiness, where the creature did first lay eyes upon the Grim One. A sentence of death was quickly imposed. Now, all that remained was the method of execution.

To minimize blood splatter and intestinal fallout, crushing the rodent warrior under foot was decided against. Instead, choice was boiled down to whether the prisoner should be drowned or buried alive.

The Bucket of Death was prepared, a Waterworld Arena, of sorts, and a grotesque looking hook-like implement was retrieved. The rodent fought back, attempting to bite through the rusted iron hooks.

To no avail!

The rat strained against its imprisonment of glue fastness, but the glue held.

A second glue trap was lowered atop the captured intruder. It sensed its demise was imminent. Even rats know fear, it seems.

A quick bash in the head for its attempted escape was mandated. The rat was unphased. What manner of evil was this, anyway?

The rat was hooked, and with fluidity of motion, it was flung beneath the waves. However, this was no ordinary keelhauling. The weight of the iron tool and wooden handle held the Rodent of Terror beneath the surface. A trail of air bubbles floated upwards. Victory was near.

Rats can hold their breath under water, apparently. However, the giant humanoid form vigorously shook the trapped beast from above. Then, while still submerged, the rat watched as GrimFinger departed.

Minutes later, I returned to drain Waterworld, and the villain was buried in a makeshift grave prepared upon first learning of the beast's capture. It lies there, even now, an unmarked tomb its final resting place.

A reward for dispatching the creature was promptly offered up by my beloved mother. Alexander Hamilton smiles at me from his comfortable place of waiting, there on the dining room table. Her gratitude acknowledged, the reward lay unclaimed, even as GrimFinger departed to other realms.

And the moral of this lesson? Apparently, this was not the Year of the Rat, after all.

A hamburger and fries now beckons unto me, so this tale must end.

:(Hey Grim, hows it going ?
Just came here to vent , a little.Hope you don't mind!
Just recieved my 2nd warning about my visitor messages!
It seems that there are those on the RoK that didn't appreciate them. I'm not exactly sure why. ---- asked me not to message a guy who goes by the name ------- anymore. So I haven't. (although i did attempt to send an appology via a 3rd party, who gave the message which was harshly re-buked) Now I've recieved a message from------telling me not to send any unsolicited V.M.'s! how would you solicit a visitor message anyway? I kind of figured that the box was there to say hi, when you checked somebody's page. Guess I was mistaken! I have sent about 50-60 of these visitor messages, which have resulted in more than half of the people winding up on my freinds list. Not one of my posts on the profile pages, would I consider to be malicious or degrading in anyway. And I find it hard to believe that anyone would view them as such. However I am to blame for what happened with-----, due to my ignorance. It seems he erased my 1st message ,and I failed to realize it so I sent him another. I entered the 2nd one before I finished typing, and so finished the message on a 3rd post. I'm stupid what can I say? He acctualy termed me as a stalker! SORRY------. I was not told who else has complained , nor do I think I have any right to know. With that being said though, the percentage of people who found my posts not to their liking -vs- the people that have found them entertaining SPEAKS for ITSELF !!! I have met a good many people on the RoK all of who offer their own brand of humor & personality. I have enjoyed my time there immensely. As it provides me with a much needed distraction from the problems and worries of my every day life! I definitely find it un-fair that I have been judged and punished for my so-called indescrestions(I think my posting ability, has been modified), on the feelings of what I'm sure is only a small handful of the RoK's members! But as they say "the squeeky wheel gets the grease". Well they got their grease. I never intended to be harrassing, demeaning, callous, or negitive in any way, shape ,or form! I only wanted to bring a laugh ,and draw some attention to a new (and mostly unused) feature of the site ,that I found to be a cool way of communicating with other members. After the original complaint, I took a day off the site of my own accord(which by the way was what-----said would have been my punishment if I continued to bother-----), but now I feel a longer absence is in order. I plan to stay off the RoK until my next turn comes in. At which time I will check in with a few of the players that are in my game, but probably wont post anything. I will use my "time off" to contemplate my future with the RoK, and as an extension Hyborian War. (because I don't think I'll enjoy the game as much without the site. I'm probably making a mountain out of a mole-hill, but the whole process has left a bad taste in my mouth! Again I appologize to any people I may have offended,I never meant to! And to the people that have shown an ability to laugh at themselves as well as others, I thank you , for you are the people that make the RoK worth going to! Grim you've been great ,as many , many others have as well. But I don't know if I can live with sanctions, because a few tight---, humorless ,----wads chose to report me as a bother . I think that----&----- should look a little deeper into the nature of the complaints, and get an over-all view of the situation before threatening action against somebody! As I said I neither harrassed or demeaned anyone, the people who complained ,for the most part are humorless lumps of humanity! But then again it's probably just me. Thanks for giving me a place to type. If this post is unwanted here ,erase it, as I was only getting rid of some frustration!
